UPDATED as of January 15, 2019: This restaurant is CLOSED. Wai Ying Fast food has always been crowded with locals, tourists and regular customers since it first opened in 1998. Their interior is very cozy and and their dishes are delicious and affordable. This is one of the favorite dimsum and noodle places in Chinatown. The price range is from P65 to P110. First on their list is the hakaw (Photo 2), 4 pieces of delicious shrimp dumplings. Another favorite is the irresistibly cruchy classic siomai (Photo 1). The beef wanton (Photo 3) is a noodle bestseller.
A well-established shop in Chinatown, Tasty Dumplings has been loved by locals since 1979. Their most popular dish is the 8-piece water dumplings (Photo 1). The pork chop rice (Photo 4) is also very frequently ordered. It is hearty pork fried to crisp served with white rice and sauce. The one-stop shop of sweet goodies in Chinatown Ho-Land sells goodies like sweets, bread and other Chinese food in general, all neatly packed in individual wrappers. The classic hopia is the most popular treat among the customers. A popular side dish is the Chinese Chimaki Machang (Photo 4). It is sticky rice that has been seasoned and wrapped in bamboo leaves.
