Cat Café Manila in Maginhawa, QC

This café is permanently closed. IT’S A CAT! It’s a cat!  – Cat Café Manila all started when Anna Calvo took a cat from a shelter two years ago. From there, together with the experience of having visited a cat café in Japan, she began to be keen on opening a cat café of her own. In partnership with CARA (Compassion and Responsibility for Animals), the café gave around ten stray cats a home in the form of a café, each greeting a new customer with an affectionate purr. To keep everyone’s peace of mind, the cats were vaccinated from disease. If there is a favorite among the cats, it is […]

If Maginhawa Street in Quezon City is something you’ve yet to be familiar with, it’s important to figure out where the crowd goes. Granted that you want to discover restaurant gems of your own when you’re just starting out, the vastness of the crowd is a good gauge of whether a restaurant has a good reputation or not. Friuli Tratorria happens to be one of those places that’s guaranteed to be packed on weekdays and especially weekends, and that’s for good reason. The trattoria is a checkered-tablecloth casual restaurant that serves Italian food in big portions with non-exorbitant price tags, which may be why college students and yuppies frequent it […]

Burger Company Philippines is not your usual burger joint. Conceptualized by Francis Fabie and Alvin Chun, it’s also a board game hub where you can play Game of Thrones while gorging on a burger or sipping a vanilla milkshake. The interiors, for starters, already scream fun at first sight – metal chairs painted yellow and red and neon post-its and photos all over the walls. The food, too, of course is just as fun and good as the interiors. There are 11 burger choices, and that’s just those under the Angus Beef category. The Striker ‘s Burger (P249 for a single patty) is highly recommended and it’s for good reason. […]
