  • Freshly baked bread, buttery pastries, and Korea’s famous French toast have arrived in Metro Manila! Founded in South Korea in 2024, Standard Bread has since expanded to Singapore and Taiwan before making its Philippine debut. Guided by its brand philosophy, “Where Bread Stays Warm,” the bakery emphasizes freshness by baking new batches of bread every 30 minutes, allowing customers to enjoy the warmth, aroma, and flavor of bread straight from the oven.

Among its specialties is the Plain Salt Bread, which combines the rich flavor of butter with just the right amount of saltiness. Those looking for something sweeter can try the Crème Brûlée Salt Bread, a dessert-inspired variation generously filled with cream. The bakery also offers brioche, bagels, and other freshly baked selections.

One of the bakery’s must-try specialties is the Crème Brûlée French Toast, featuring caramelized French toast topped with custard cream and served with honey butter and raspberry compote. The caramelized surface provides a delightful contrast to the smooth sweetness of the custard, while the raspberry compote adds a refreshing tartness to every bite.

Beyond its bread and pastries, Standard Bread also serves savory dishes that make it an inviting destination for breakfast, lunch, or a casual café visit.

The Truffle Mushroom Cream Soup is a rich and creamy soup that highlights the savory flavor of mushrooms, finished with the distinctive aroma of truffle.

For something lighter, the Ricotta Cream Cheese Tomato Salad combines creamy ricotta cheese with tomatoes, grapes, walnuts, and balsamic sauce. The richness of the cheese complements the freshness of the tomatoes and the sweet-tart flavors of the fruit. It also pairs particularly well with brioche, whose subtle sweetness balances the salad’s savory notes.

Coffee lovers can enjoy two signature beverages: the Standard Spanner and Standard Mocha (Php 200).

The Standard Spanner is an iced espresso drink topped with a smooth, fluffy layer of cream, balancing the bold aroma and gentle bitterness of coffee with a mellow sweetness. Meanwhile, the Standard Mocha uses 100% Philippine-grown cacao mass, offering a rich chocolate flavor in every sip.

Adding a local touch to its menu, Standard Bread has also introduced two Philippine-exclusive dishes: Bulgogi Doenjang Risotto (Php 580) and Thick Bacon Kimchi Rice (Php 450), incorporating familiar Korean flavors into satisfying rice-based meals.

Beyond the food, Standard Bread brings its own playful personality to the dining experience. Its interiors are inspired by the fictional Standard Bread Village, featuring warm wooden elements that create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

The café also introduces its original characters, collectively known as the Standard Folks, which reflect the bakery’s imaginative world. Among them are Tosik, the toast-inspired leader; ChiaChia, a cheerful character inspired by ciabatta; and Guette, inspired by the classic baguette. Together with two other characters, they add a playful charm to the bakery’s identity.

With its freshly baked specialties, Korean-inspired café dishes, and inviting interiors, Standard Bread offers another destination for bread enthusiasts and café lovers in Metro Manila.

Following its first Philippine branch at SM Megamall, Standard Bread is also scheduled to open its second location at Serendra in Bonifacio Global City in December 2026, bringing more of its Korean bakery favorites to the local market.
