Nono's by Classic Confections offers a wide array of cakes and sweets, among which are the award-winning Nono's Chocolate Oblivion and Sylvia's Strawberry Shortcake, which are both named after Chef Baba's parents. Chef Baba Ibazeta Benedicto is at the helm of these confections, which are perfect for all occasions. Filipino food is amusing because each district has different characteristics. The menu of Tambayan sa Kanto is centred on Ilocano cuisine. This restaurant uses ingredients that came directly from Ilocos region and the origin of its homey recipes are from the owner’s grandmother who resides in Ilocos. Its hipon (P358), which is this restaurant’s recommended dish, is a healthy soup that has onion, whitebait (Japanese anchovy), tomato, and ginger. Ensaladang gamet (photo 2), a seaweed and tomato salad, and bagnet (P430), crispy fried pork that is cut into small pieces, are just some of the typical Ilocano cuisine that Tambayan sa Kanto serves.

“Revolutionizing Filipino Cuisine” is the strong statement that Cafe de Bonifacio released which focuses on innovation in Filipino food. This café’s original recipe added a delicate twist to the Filipino dishes it offers, which is something worth boasting about. Its dishes have incorporated the cooking principles of Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Cafe de Bonifacio’s Lumpia (photo 1) is similar to a spring roll that is then cut and arranged beautifully, making it easy to eat. This restaurant’s Tilapia (photo 2), which looks like it’s going to swim at any moment, is a dish that is very tasty up to its tail!

With reasonable prices, you can enjoy authentic Japanese food in Yaku Japanese Grill. Since this restaurant bears the name ‘Yaku,’ its signature menu is skewers grilled in charcoa The chicken skin (P69/3 skewers) and grilled chicken with onions (P105/3 skewers) are very fragrant and tasty. The shrimp and vegetable fritter soba or Kakiage soba (P249) is our editor-in-chief’s favorite dish. On the other hand, the sea urchin and tuna maki (P99 each) are served in big amounts, so it can surely make your stomach full. You can also order rice to eat with your skewers and there is an also free refill for Japanese green tea.
