Downtown and Halsted is an art bar where they give a venue to up and coming artists to showcase their art and skills, from paintings, photography, music, fashion, film, sculptures and anything related to creating beauty.

According to co-owner, Isabella Nolasco, she’ve always wanted to have her own bar/restaurant ever since she was a kid. When she was offered to become a partner of Downtown and Halsted and heard the pitch, she was immediately sold.

Ishka told that the name behind their business revolves around the booming food and art revolution in Halsted street in Chicago. It is where the art and food scene is very revolutionary, thus bringing the vibe in the Philippines and created Downtown and Halsted as a place where people can meet and eat and have a great time.

The man behind Downtown and Halsted’s food is Nolasco’s partner chef Marco Legasto, also a  chef restauranteur owner of Prime 101 and Abuelas.

“We make everything in the kitchen from scratch. We don’t use pre-made mixes or MSG” says Nolasco. They also make fresh pasta, fresh wraps, jams and bake their own breads.

This bar offers international comfort food and designer cocktails made by their mixologist. Also, they use fresh pressed juice for all their cocktails.

Since Downtown and Halsted is still on their soft opening, they will be adding more in their menu. Plus, they also carry many rare types of single malts, gins, and tequilas and mescals, so if you want to distress or just wanna hang out with friends, then this is the place to be.
