  • Bread isn’t exactly a staple on the Filipino table with the exception of the pan de sal or the ever-popular loaf of bread which we call “tasty bread”. There are lots of bakeries within Makati, but one bakery in particular is becoming the talk of the town: Staple and Perk Bakery.

Staple and Perk Bakery is both a bakery and a café. College friends Kathryn Wong, Aldrin Lim, and Bryan Ahn had an idea in 2014 to put up a resto-café based on Aldrin’s commissary business. 2 years on and they’re still among Pasong Tamo’s most popular cafés, with breads baked fresh every day.

    interior

The restaurant itself is very casual. Found at the first floor of the Ecoplaza Building, the 70-seater café is great for people looking for a simple dining experience.

    sandwich

One of their most popular is the Sesame Chicken Sandwich (P200). One serving is big enough to count as a whole meal, perfect for those who work in and around the area.

    drinks

Looking to wash down your massive chicken sandwich? Get their iced chocolate (P130) or ice blended drinks: Matcha Green Tea (P140) or Cookies and Cream (P140).

    dessert

Make sure you have some room for their Dayap Cheese Cake made fresh with lime grown in the Philippines.

Their wide variety of sweets and comfort food are made fresh with local ingredients, and are sure to satisfy every appetite.

You can find Staple and Perk Bakery at G/F, Ecoplaza Bldg., 2305 Pasong Tamo Ext., Chino Roces Ave., Makati City. They are open 24 hours a day from Monday – Saturday. They close at 3:00 pm on Sunday.
