In a report by the Canadian Press, Canada’s largest fast food chain Tim Hortons is set to open its first Southeast Asian branch in the Philippines.

Its first store, located on the intersection of United Nations Avenue and San Marcelino Street in Manila, is expected to finish construction by the end of January. Although the exact date is still yet to be announced, fans of the famous coffee house could expect their most-awaited coffee house to open as early as February.

Multinational owner and operator of Tim Hortons and Burger King Restaurant Brands International (RBI) was quoted to have said that it will be partnering with a group of investors in establishing a “master franchise joint venture company” in the country

According to Daniel Schwartz, its chief executive, they chose Philippines because of its “strong economy and fast-growing quick service market.” Also, he said that the Philippines has a “population that has an affinity for coffee and baked goods.” RBI did not say how many shops will they be opening in the country yet, but according to Schwartz they will also have more international expansion announcements in the future.

Tim Hortons in the Philippines will be offering their staples from Canada such as the timbits and iced capps, and some new products as well. Tim Hortons has 4,438 restaurants as of March 2016 with 411 limited-service kiosks. No details on the location and opening date yet but they said that it will open as soon as possible.
