  • Deo Gracias in Quezon City: Spanish Food You’ll Thank God For
  • Quezon City is like a bustling food bazaar that offers a dizzying array of food choices. You’ll find everything here, from hole-in-the-wall eateries serving local Filipino delicacies to fancy bistros dishing out international cuisines. And for those moments when you’re yearning for the flavors of Spain, Deo Gracias should be a great choice.

Meaning “Give thanks to God” Deo Gracias is known for its contemporary Spanish cuisine helmed by chefs Heny Sison and Alex del Hoyo Gómez, who brings authentic Spanish flavors to the table. Chef Alex’s journey in the industry has taken him from his hometown in Burgos to Madrid, and eventually to various parts of Asia, including the Philippines. His expertise in his home country’s cooking, paired with his partner’s creative approach, results in a unique dining experience that marries traditional Spanish dishes with modern twists.

The restaurant pays homage to Spain’s rich food culture by bringing various Spanish regional specialties together in one menu. Notable dishes include Cochinillo Castellano, a Castilian-style roasted suckling pig, and the Callos a la Bilbaina, a slow-cooked stew using Chef Alex’s family recipe. Other signature dishes are Carpaccio de Vaca, Entrecot, and Txipirones Negro.

The tapas selection is also particularly praised for its variety and taste, with standout dishes like Tartar de Vaca Roll and Pan con Tomate.

For those who favor the classics, there’s Sangria Roja, a favorite bursting with fruity goodness, and Sangria Blanca, offering a lighter, more refreshing twist on the traditional sangria. Lastly, the Rebujito provides a zesty and invigorating experience, perfect for those seeking a refreshing sip with a Spanish flair.
