  • Attention, foodies! Karayama, Japan’s famous karaage chain, has recently opened its newest branch in One Ayala Makati!

Known for serving Japan’s crunchiest fried chicken, Karayama will delight diners with their signature dishes, most notably, karaage—chicken pieces marinated in a special blend of seasonings, coated in a light batter, and then deep fried to perfection.

Aside from this, their donburi (rice bowls) such as Karatama Don  with kara-age simmered in a light soy broth, Cheesy Karatama Don topped with melted cheese, Gokudare Don with garlic sesame sauce or the creamy Cheesy Curry Kara-age, served with spicy, cheesy Japanese curry are a must-try.

If you’re looking for a complete meal, Karayama’s set meals are a fantastic choice. The Karayama Set  has their signature kara-age paired with rice, miso soup, shredded cabbage, and dipping sauces, while the Crunchy Wing & Kara-age Set  consists of crispy wings and kara-age for an irresistible combo.

For something different, try the Krapow Plate, a Japanese-inspired take on the Thai basil stir-fry chicken, which comes with a cabbage salad, veggies, rice, and a fried egg. Karayama also offers noodle dishes like Chicken Paitan Ramen.

For group dining, their Party Sets  are perfect, featuring a mix of kara-age, wings, rice, salad, miso soup, and sides like fries or kimchi. Don’t forget to complement your meal with their Unlimited Houseblend Iced Tea or a can of ice cold Kirin Ichiban Beer.

Like the other Karayama branches in the Philippines, the One Ayala branch has wooden accents, from the paneling on the walls to the furniture that lend a natural vibe, while the spacious dining space makes for a comfortable dining experience. The soft lighting highlights the clean lines and minimalist design, complemented by the Japanese restaurant’s logo on one of the main walls.

Following its opening in One Ayala Makati, Karayama continues its expansion in Metro Manila with another branch at SM Megamall, making its signature Japanese karaage more accessible to diners in the Ortigas area.

With its growing presence in key locations, Karayama is steadily becoming a go-to destination for those craving authentic Japanese fried chicken and comforting rice meals in the city.
