A quiet escape up north: Kapuluan Vista Resort

Pagudpud is known for its world-class waves. However, with most of Blue Lagoon already dominated by Hannah’s and transient houses, it’s hard to find a place that puts you away from it all yet still keeps you close.

Here’s where Kapuluan Vista Resort comes in. The brainchild of a former professional surfer, Kapuluan Vista Resort is probably the most peaceful resort in Pagudpud.

It’s become the go-to resort in Pagudpud for local celebrities as well as surfers who visit the Surfing Capital of the North, both from here and abroad. It’s also been home to several Japanese surfers, who have a habit of leaving their surfboards for their next visit.

They have a total of 10 rooms, which means you can get the best possible rest thanks to the serene environment. Their rooms all come with complimentary breakfast, served at their in-house restaurant.

Six of their 10 rooms have air conditioning, while the other four are dormitory-style rooms with fans. It’s a great place to be away from all the activities of Blue Lagoon, especially during the peak season. They have access to the nearby fishing sanctuary where you can either catch and release or have your fresh catch cooked by their chef.

Getting to Kapuluan Vista from Laoag is made easy with their airport shuttle service to and from the Laoag International Airport. It’s available for P3,000 per van one-way. They also have water sports like, snorkeling, and stand-up paddle boarding, as well as tours of Pagudpud (P2,500 – P3,000/day) and Vigan (P6,500/day).

Kapuluan has WiFi access in public areas. Your rooms are like big cabanas, with a few of them having a loft. Walk-ins are allowed, but advance bookings are recommended because they only have 10 rooms.
