    Distinct Refinements: Painting from the Provinces (Ongoing until October 28)

    If you haven’t checked out Distinct Refinements, the weekend is the best time to do so. The exhibit is a remarkable showcase of masterpieces, from portraits and landscapes to abstracts, of artists from provinces and different parts of the Philippines.

    MANILA: Hidden in Plain Sight (Ongoing until August 26)

    Have you seen Manila? You may have driven through the streets and huddled with the rush hour crowd, but you haven’t seen Manila the way that this exhibit presents it. Using different mediums, the artworks reveal a more personal image of Manila, that which includes you in the picture. Find the city in Manila: Hidden in Plain Sight exhibit this weekend.

    West Side Story (Ongoing until August 27)

    Performances in Paris, Beijing, Tokyo and Londo were a box office hit! Don’t miss the chance to see Broadway’s greatest dance musical in Manila. Take your friends and loved ones to watch West Side Story at The Theater at Solaire this weekend.

    Living Spaces (Ongoing until August 20)

    As part of a series of contemporary art shows in Southeast Asia called Condition Report, Living Spaces features artworks with a theme that let you see and understand the global housing crisis in a new light. The artworks were organized by Filipino curator Alice Sarmiento. You can still see the exhibit at Vetro in Quezon City until Sunday.

    Dissident Vicinities (August 18 – September 1)

    Evoking awareness and empowerment amid struggles for liberation and rights in today’s society, the artworks featured in Dissident Vicinities were curated by Filipino curator Lisa Ito-Tapang. The exhibit is one of the back-to-back exhibitions this August under Condition Report, presented by Japan Foundation Asia Center.

    Ballet Philippines: A Gala Celebration (August 18 – 20)

    Ballet Philippines presents a stunning ensemble of Filipino stars to start off their 48th season at the CCP Main Theater. Watch internationally acclaimed Filipino ballet artists create an enchanting ballet performance that will surely hold you spellbound.

    History Comes Alive! (August 19)

    History is boring? Think again! Renowned historian Professor Ambeth Ocampo will keep you engrossed in his witty narratives, unconventional anecdotes and distinct perspective on Philippine history. Meet him at Ayala Museum this Saturday!

    The Glitter Trap (August 20)
