  • Scott Burger by PNC in Uptown Mall: A Taste of 90s Famous Burgers
  • It was Gregory Ty or commonly known as Uncle Greg, who opened the first burger outlet in España, Manila in 1985 which he named after his eldest son. The said chain store grew steadily, and gained a loyal following especially after the company pioneered the “Buy One Take One” promo in 1991. This burger joint was named Scott Burger.

The LRT line 1 inspired interior is reminiscent of how Scott Burger was available at almost every station along Taft, Manila

At present, Uncle Greg’s nephew, Lloyd Peter Lee is the proprietor of the Pedro n Coi (PNC) concept that he started with his wife Architect and Beauty Queen Shamcey Supsup. And now, the couple is reviving the Scott Burger brand that people used to love in the 90s.

Using the same elements and recipe of the much-loved burger, the couple brings the ‘it burger’ back this 2018 at an amusing spot at the Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City.

Here’s what we had during Scott Burger’s opening in BGC!

To start off the food adventure, we had their sides called Carolyn Sexy Choice that is either sour cream or barbecue flavored chips with sauce (Php 170 each) or fish fillet with garlic parmesan sauce (Php 190). These were served in a small bucket. We really loved the combination of its mildly salty chips and sauces that brought the flavors together.

Next, we had the highlight of Scott Burger’s menu. The much-awaited are now re-branded to appeal to those looking to level up their dining experience.

The burgers are offered with a choice of solo single patty or a double of two patties. Developed with the help of celebrity Chef Sharwin Tee, the new Scott Burger offers a selection of burgers that include the Original Scott Burger with wagyu beef patty, miso butter, and signature Scott sauce (Solo Php 65, Double Php 95). They also have Premium Burgers (Solo Php 75, Double Php 105) with your choice of Good Morning Burger, China Town Burger, BBQ Bang Burger, Cheesy Lover Burger, and TLC Burger.

For something that is definitely different, we recommend you to try Good Morning Burger, made up of beef patty with miso butter and egg salad. Meanwhile, the China Town Burger is slathered with a savory Hoisin sauce and apple juice topped with pork floss, while the BBQ Bang is a Korean-inspired burger that comes with a housemade kimchi slaw.

Scott Burger offers burger boxes with a buy 6, take 6 offer that levels up the Buy-One-Get-One game to fit larger groups

Other must-try innovations at Scott are the Billy James Hot Wings (6 pcs Php 195, 12 pcs Php 375), ranging from classic Original Rub and Hot Buffalo Wings to Cheesy Kaiju, Apple Hoisin, Tangy Lemon, and Honey Soy variants. We recommend both the Soy and Tangy that were really flavorful to the bones.

Their flavorful wings are really a must-try!

The tagline they are anchoring on is “Sa Scott Kayo’y Laging Sikat” (In Scott You’re Always Famous) which refers to the people who would bring their families and friends to Scott.

Here, they can enjoy the Classic Burgers and other new variety of flavors specially twisted to the taste of both millennials and the old-school folks who know Scott Burger. “You will definitely be famous or ‘sikat‘ with your family because in Scott PNC, [aside from] a good menu lineup, the prices and savings will definitely be another value to consider,” says owner Lloyd Lee.

With both the LRT line 1 and the 80s to 90s inspirations for the restaurant interior, every corner is very Instagram-worthy. There’s vinyl on the wall, mini train booths and even station signages with the burger names.

Interesting and also very nostalgic of the past, Scott Burger by PNC is truly something to take your box of 6 burgers from before heading to the movies just beside the store. The PNC couple attended the grand opening on May 17 on their first branch at the 3rd level in Uptown Mall BGC.

Head on to Scott by PNC at Uptown Mall in BGC to get a throwback taste of the burgers we all loved in the 90s!
