Chung Dam’s culinary journey began in 2017 as Tongkeunso Korean Restaurant, specializing in premium Korean beef. Three years later, Chung Dam emerged in Malate, right alongside vibrant new establishments in the now-bustling Manila Koreatown.

The fine dining Korean restaurant even expanded to Bonifacio Global City in 2022, followed by its branch in PARQAL in Parañaque City in 2023, and Alabang in 2025, providing more and more food enthusiasts with exquisite culinary experiences and authentic flavors from the Land of the Morning Calm.

With Chef Jang Jungyun at the helm of Chung Dam’s kitchen, every dish is thoughtfully studied and developed to capture the fresh, vibrant flavors of Korea.
A seasoned chef with deep experience in fine Korean cuisine, Chef Jang was one of the founding members of Gaon, Korea’s first restaurant to earn three Michelin stars. She spent over 10 years building her career at Gaon and Bicena, a one-Michelin-starred restaurant, before serving for three years as head chef at the Embassy of Korea in Japan, where she helped represent Korean cuisine on the global stage.

Now in the Philippines, Chef Jang brings the same sincerity and dedication to Chung Dam. Guided by her mission to promote authentic Korean food, she creates dishes using premium Korean ingredients while honoring the depth, balance, and warmth of Korea’s culinary traditions.
Chung Dam specializes in various distinct offerings, starting with premium Korean beef known as Hanwoo, which is native to Korea. Aside from this, they also serve USA beef and wagyu, both renowned for their marbling and succulence, complemented by an array of traditional Korean side dishes that enhance the dining experience.

Another realm where Chung Dam excels is in their seafood offerings, featuring delicacies such as Live King Crab, Korean Abalone, and Gwangeo or Korean Flatfish sourced directly from Jeju Island, among other exquisite selections. Bibimbap and Korean Sashimi Sets are also available for a hearty and healthy meal.
Their Live King Crab (Php 12,800) weighs 1kg. and includes fresh salad, four kinds of seafood, tempura (fried shrimp), seafood pancake, crab stew, and crab fried rice, perfect for sharing with friends and family.

For comforting stews, the signature Seafood Soybean Paste Stew is a must-try, with hearty shrimps, fresh seafood, and vegetables simmered in a rich Korean soybean paste broth. Gather your friends and family, as all of Chung Dam’s branches offer private dining areas to cater to your special events. The BGC branch has two private rooms, one for 20 guests and another for 10 guests. There are no consumable rates for each private room, so open a bottle of Hwayo liquor and toast to memorable moments while enjoying an array of authentic Korean flavors at Chung Dam!
