From the tiny stall in Poblacion’s The Social food park in 2017, Crosta Pizzeria is the 12th rank on the 50 Top Pizza World 2024 list, 2nd best pizza in Asia, and the top pizzeria in the Philippines. What is the secret? Making delicious pizzas everyone loves while focusing on their bakey signature sourdough crust: light, airy, and crunchy.

The pizzeria has a small area where guests can enjoy their slices of pizzas solo or with a friend. The atmosphere at Crosta in Salcedo exudes industrial chic and playful personality. Catalan slate meets minimalist decor, blessed with quirky pink neon. One whimsically says, “Pizz’ out.” With limited seating, one can actually just nap in the welcoming atmosphere of the small space, grab a slice, and hang out with friends.

Crosta menu includes a pleasant assortment of classics and inventive flavors, so there’s something for everyone out there. What perhaps makes this pizza place special is how their pizzas undergo a gradual cooking process which lasts for three to four minutes, making its crust undeniably crispy! The combination of toppings is also exceptional as the pizzeria features popular offerings such as homemade pancetta, pumpkin cream, and goat cheese.

Round sourdough pizzas are the top-selling, such as the ever-basic Basic Betch (Php 350), their take on Margherita, and Cheesy AF (Php 440): mozzarella, taleggio, fontina, and gorgonzola. For something less ordinary, try their Detroit-style and Sicilian style pizzas, with crusts that are thicker, chewier, and crunchy. Not to be missed, Crosta also offers an array of vegan pizzas, one of which is the Vegan Shroomed Out (Php 580): cashew, mozzarella and various mushrooms.

Aside from these, Crosta Pizza welcomed the great Yuichi Ito as its pizzaiolo (pizza maker) in February 2023! The young pizza chef previously served at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo’s Pizza Bar on 38th, which is famous for its gourmet fare and extensive wine list.

With a focus on terrific pizza and menus for different tastes, it’s no question that they’ve solidified a spot for themselves in Makati’s dining scene. Next time when you’re in the area, grab a slice or two, and have a taste of what is called “Crosta Pizzeria magic.”
