In addition to the stakeholders involved, TAU Corporation played a crucial role as a coordinator by facilitating communication and collaboration among the signing parties. TAU will actively engage with them to ensure the smooth flow of information, efficient implementation of training programs, and seamless integration of trainees into the initiative.
According to ECU Secretariat Daichi Kawakami, ECU spearheaded this initiative and that their goal is to contribute to “ZERO EMISSION SOCIETY” by creating the global circulation of their resources through the proper reuse and recycle of their automotives. They hope their technical intern trainees would take over this vision, and in the future become the ones who would realize such society on a global scale.
Meanwhile, WISI advisor Yosuke Suzuki shared that the agreement seeks to facilitate the transfer of advanced Japanese automotive maintenance know-how such as the shaken (JCI inspection) to the trainees to ensure that they are equipped with cutting-edge skills and methodologies to help them excel in the field. He said that they will undergo a month-long comprehensive training program in different companies in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Ibaraki, and Saitama.
“In the first year, we’re planning to sponsor 20 trainees. We hope things will go smoothly so we can send at least 100 trainees per year because our goal is to create more success stories and continue helping the people of Santa Rosa [through this partnership],” he added.

Santa Rosa Manpower Development Office Head Pedro Catindig added that this partnership aims to find and support Filipino automotive workers by identifying those with the potential to succeed in the field. He was also hoping that this would create better job opportunities for the trainees after completing the program by providing a pathway for Filipino talents to contribute to the automotive industry both here and abroad.
“We aim to uplift the lives of our people and to help them get better job opportunities in the automotive industry,” added Catindig in Filipino.
SRMTC, WISI, and ECU were all represented by distinguished individuals during the signing ceremony. The city’s leader, Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas, took part in the agreement, alongside WISI President Estrella Suzuki and ECU Director General Takuya Fujihisa. Their presence underscored the significance of the collaboration and demonstrated the commitment of each organization to the shared goals of talent development, knowledge exchange, and creating employment opportunities in the automotive industry.
