Want to get rich while stuck in traffic? The popular American game show Cash Cab is coming to Manila premiering on December 22, 2015 at 8:50 pm on AXN. Hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, the show will have its encore telecast on December 24, 9:15 pm. To play the game, Cash Cab Philippines will be using a regular taxi cab for disguise. It will traverse along Metro Manila, in search of unwary passengers, with the driver (host) asking them a series of trivia questions. Japan’s apples and pears are now available in Metro Manila

Rustan’s marketplace in Metro Manila started the retailing of apples and pears from Yamagata Prefecture, Japan from December 5th, and will continue until January 2016. Shoppers can see and buy the Japanese apple varieties of “Sinano-Gold” and “Sinano-Sweet” and the popular pear variety “La-France” at the Rustan’s Marketplace outlets. Court Suspends Granting Permits to Uber, GrabCar

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Friday issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to stop granting permits to app-based ride hailing services Uber and GrabCar and similar transport services operating under the Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS). The TRO includes the stopping of accepting, processing and approving of applications of private motor vehicles as public utility vehicles accredited and belonging to TNVS. QCRTC Judge Santiago Arenas clarified that the TRO does not apply to current operations of Uber and GrabCar, as it only disallows government offices from accepting and approving TNVS applications. Manila’s historic district and walled city within the city Intramuros is recently conferred the Premio Patrimonio de la Humanidad (Heritage Award) by Spain. Philippine Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez Jr., as Chairman of the Intramuros Administration, received the award from Jose Juis Rivas Hernandez, Mayor of Avila, Spain, who is also the concurrent president of the Group of World Heritage Cities in Spain. The award recognizes the successful conservation, restoration, and redevelopment programs of the Philippine Department of Tourism in Intramuros. As host of this year’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, the Philippines will be welcoming leaders and delegates from all over the world for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), which will be held in Manila from November 18 to 19. These dates have earlier been announced as special non-working days. The All Nippon Airway (ANA) held the 3rd traditional Japanese storytelling, Yose, last March 1, 2015. This year, famous comedian Tatekawa Shinosuke took the stage on the 2nd floor ballroom of the Fairmont Makati and performed Rakugo in front of almost 600 people in the audience. Rakugo is a type of Japanese verbal entertainment wherein the storyteller sits on a small cushion on stage. Among the performers were Mr. Shinosuke’s 6th apprentice, Shinotaro Tatekawa, and a violin entertainer, Magnum Kobayashi. Children and adults alike enjoyed the comical performance. MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Japanese Ambassador Kazuhide Ishikawa and ICAN Philippines Country Director Yukiyo Nomura  signed the grant contract for the project on Capacity Building Project on Peace Education and Conflict Resolution in Bangsamoro Communities of Mindanao at the Embassy of Japan on February 25, 2015.
