  • Philam Life launches new financial advisor recruitment campaign
  • Today’s fast-paced world demands a little bit of insurance. Our country, in particular, has had a boom in the insurance industry; however, people who have life insurance are still few and far between, with our country having one of the lowest penetration rates in Southeast Asia.

Philam Life, the country’s premier life insurance company, looks to improve on this by giving better insurance products not just through simple education but by having Filipinos talk to the right person.

img_0513_markedA NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT LIFE INSURANCE. Philam Life CEO Ariel Cantos (right) talks about how the insurance industry has grown over the years. Accompanied by Philam Life VP – Head of Agency Strategy Stephen Segismundo (left), they introduced Philam Life’s latest products and their new recruitment program.

“With the right products and the right people, we have a lot of opportunities to penetrate the market,” said Philam Life CEO Ariel “Aibee” Cantos during a media briefing held in Makati last October 20. “Today is the right time to talk about life insurance because it has continued to evolve. From primarily protecting the income of the breadwinner, life insurance now has many uses like helping a child get the best education, helping the sick get well, and ensuring a comfortable retirement,” he added.

Philam Life has always been on the forefront of financial literacy, but they can’t do it alone. A financial advisor, once considered a “dead end job”, is now an attractive option that not only boosts the country’s financial literacy, but also acts as a viable career option.

This is why Philam Life has embarked on a transformational recruitment program that seeks to bolster their 7,000-strong ranks of financial advisors. They are adopting a different approach by ensuring their new advisors will be provided with the right tools via targeted development programs and a unique way of working as a financial advisor: IMO, or interactive mobile office, and IPoS, or interactive point of sale system.

IMO is an app specifically designed for Philam Life’s financial advisors to plan their business, recruit, monitor, and manage sales activity from the comfort of their own “office”.

IPoS, on the other hand, is the first iPad-based paperless application that helps financial advisors do things such as analyzing a client’s financial needs, presenting product options, receiving applications, and payment, all in one easy-to-use app.

Philam Life is also looking to boost their financial advisor’s chances of being members of the Million Dollar Round Table (MRDT) club though its GENESIS facility, which offers an end-to-end training and development program. MRDT is an elite club composed of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals that every financial advisor strives to be a part of.

“The career of a financial advisor has become an attractive career option because it allows the person to do good while doing well. Work-life balance is not just about time, but also having a meaningful balance between achieving one’s ambition and at the same time making a positive difference to other people’s lives,” said Cantos.
