Get to know Cebu’s Diving Destination: Moalboal
Known for being a diving destination in Cebu is the town of Moalboal. Since it is a peninsula, the place is surrounded by water. It is a popular tourist spot especially for divers because of the rich marine life found underwater.
Swim in the clear blue waters of Moalboal
There are two places in Moalboal that is being traveled to by tourists: one is the Panagsama Beach, which is where the dive shops and restaurants are located. With Moalboal known being one of the best diving spot in Asia, you will be able to see that there are a lot of foreigners here who come visit the place for their diving adventures. With that, several dive shops have started to fill the places. Whether you would like to try diving fun or want to take it seriously, you can do it here as there is a PADI-certified (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) place where you can learn through a course.

If you wish for a more beginner-friendly water activity, you can also try snorkeling here. There are various snorkeling spots where you can see marine creatures such as sea turtles around the area. One of the most famous would be Pescador Island just about 10 to 15 minutes away from the shores of Panagsama. This is the main diving spot where you can see corals and fishes. But if you wish to see more, you can try scuba diving. There is also the Sardines run where you can see school of sardines at the protected area underwater.

If you just want a quiet vacation by just beach bumming, you can opt to go to White Beach. It is just a tricycle ride away from Panagsama Beach. There are some resorts here where you can stay as you admire the pristine white sand beach in this area.
To go to Moalboal, you need to take a bus from Cebu City at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT). It’s a three hour ride away. Drop off at the Municipal Hall and hire a trike or habal-habal (motorcycles) that costs about *P60 per trip. Enjoy and have a great diving adventure at Moalboal!
