  • For the past 40 years, the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) has been steadily expanding its partnerships with their international counterparts to provide its members with the needed network to grow their platform operations.

    And this year, they are back with the annual gathering of travel and hospitality industries from various countries to offer the best travel opportunities to the public. The 26th Travel Tour Expo begins today, February 8, at the SMX Convention Center.

    TTE 2019’s Kick-Off Ceremony

    The PTAA, headed by President Ritchie Tuano, gathered distinguished guests and media as they officially opened the Travel Tour Expo 2019 at the SMX Convention Center yesterday, February 7.

    Gracing the opening ceremony are PTAA Founding President Atty. Paquito Tankiang, DOT Undersecretary Benito Benzon, Jr., Tourism Committee Chairperson of House of Representatives Hon. Corazon Malanyaon, and Tourism Committee Chairperson of Senate Sen. Nancy Binay.

    Travel Tour Expo 2019

    The 26th Travel Tour Expo is a three-day event rounding up tourism industry stakeholders from airlines, hotels, travel agencies, cruise lines, theme parks, national tourism organizations, and government agencies not just from the country, but from all over the world. 

    TTE 2019 showcases destinations from eight national tourism organizations (NTO) including Guam Visitors Bureau, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Japan National Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Organization, Singapore Tourism Board, Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

    In conjunction with TTE 2019, the 4th International Travel Trade Expo also opens with tourism stakeholders from 47 companies from 13 participating countries: Australia, Cambodia, France, Guam, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

    What to Expect at TTE

    This year, 994 booths from more than 400 travel and tourism-related firms, government offices, and embassies are participating in the travel expo.

    Visitors get to enjoy dropdown rates, discounts, and promo packages from all exhibitors which cover destinations to most countries around the world. There will also be non-stop stage activities like cultural and celebrity performances, presentations from exhibitors and sponsors, and hourly raffles and games.

    TTE opens to the public today from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On February 9, on the other hand, doors will open at 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. And on the last day, February 10,  the expo begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. General admission fee is Php 100, while Php 70 is the senior citizen rate.
