Forbes Travel Guide is the originator of the prestigious Five-Star Rating system and has provided the travel industry’s most comprehensive ratings and reviews of hotels, restaurants, and spas since 1958. It is run by hoteliers who are veterans in the field.

Considered as the Olympics of the hospitality industry, Mr. Inzerillo explains, “The reason why we’re doing this is because around the world, guests are saying, ‘Who do I trust? I paid money and they said it’s a five-star, seven-star, eight-star, and I got there and had a terrible experience.’ It’s becoming one problem in the world. So in order to fix that, you have to have a global system like the Olympics, that is uncompromised in its ethics and value. We’re only going to be the hotel people because the hotel people know it. You can’t buy these stars. You can’t fake them out. You have to earn it. You’ve earned this, and it separates you from all the fakes. You are in the Olympics. You are Olympians. You won gold medals, and only 199 teams in the world have ever accomplished this.”

Redefining luxury travel, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila takes pride as it gets recognized once again in the global hospitality landscape, having earned the Five-Star Award, for two consecutive years, by Forbes Travel Guide; the only non-gaming hotel recipient in the Philippines.

Managed by the Wharf Hotels that is based in Hong Kong, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is one of the only two hotels in Manila who have been the firsts to be awarded the recognition by the global authority on luxury travel, the Forbes Travel Guide, since its inception six decades ago. This year, its excellence in all pillars of hospitality have been certified again, as it remained to keep the status for the second time.

“You’ve done an amazing job. We’re proud of you. Thank you so much for a warm welcome. This is such a great hotel, and you deserve so much credit,” says Mr. Inzerillo.
