  • #FriendshipGoals: Billboard Featuring Barkada’s Road Trip Plans Trends Online
  • Digital billboards featuring chat messages of a barkada’s road trip plans are trending on social media after netizens join in the fun and bring up their own plans.

The mysterious chat messages, featured on billboards along EDSA, Mckinley Ave., and other locations, relate the familiar conversation of friends organizing their next road trip. A certain Rich sends out an invite of “Tara friends, let’s drive!” and receives giddy messages in return, such as “Uyy, tara!” from a friend named Nanie; “Exciting! San tayo?” from Hugo; and other responses from Fred, Nammie, Mage, Margo, and Hero.

Netizen Dee Kaye San Luis (@danice.lerio) shares a post with the billboard saying, “Parang nakaka-excite naman yung roadtrip nila. Sama kaya ako?

Without any brands, labels, or specific people identified, the intriguing display has piqued the curiosity and sparked the imagination of commuters and passersby. Is it an invitation to embark on a trip to a yet unspecified location? Is it a thoughtful personal gesture between friends?

Meanwhile, some have praised the spontaneity of the group, with travel creator She Goes (@shegoesph) snapping a photo of the billboard and saying, “Friendship Goals!! Isang text lang ng ‘tara let’s drive’, G agad!

The billboard perfectly coincides with that time of the year well-suited for road trips: summer. As temperatures rise around the Metro, the chat between Rich and the barkada has stirred the “Fear Of Missing Out” or FOMO of netizens who are understandably daydreaming about the next beach visit or pool retreat with friends.

Mommy AVEnue (@mommyavenuebymarielenguito) posts, “Sino ba’ng ayaw ng roadtrip?”, while Loumuel Laytan shares (@llaytan) says, “Count me in!!”

Whether you know easygoing friends like Rich, Hero, Nanie, Fred, Nammie, Mage, Margo, or Hero in your life or not, the billboard stands as an important reminder of the value of friendships and spending time with our loved ones. Despite the ubiquity of social media and digital communications, creating memorable moments during road trips, travel plans, and new experiences continues to be priceless.
