LIST: Top Paying Jobs in the Philippines for 2017
JobStreet.com recently released their 2017 Salary Report and their 2017 Fresh Graduates Report, which gives insight on which industries pay the most.
For fresh graduates, Law, healthcare, and journalism all overtook IT for the top spot. Here’s the top 10 for fresh grads:
- Law/legal services – P27,124
- Healthcare-related – 23,216
- Journalism – P21,777
- IT-related – P21,703
- Education – P21,457
- Actuarial service – P21,408
- Training and development – P20,838
- Banking/financial services – P20,092
- Public relations – P20,055
- Advertising/media planning – P19,960
For those with at least one year of experience, however, IT still dominates the rest of the field, as shown in JobStreet.com’s graphs:
As far as work experience goes, it still pays to be an IT graduate. IT graduates who have at least a year of experience are expected to earn more compared to those who hold degrees in law, healthcare, and journalism which dominated the ranks for fresh graduates.
IT was only beaten out by corporate strategists in terms of having experience as they were more prized in managerial posts.
As far as where to look for a job is concerned, business process outsourcing (BPO) companies are providing stiffer competition for traditional companies, especially in the fields of healthcare and finance. According to their 2017 report, BPOs have been more aggressive in hiring people with specializations, especially within these fields.
Numbers in the salary reports were taken from surveys done in late 2016 (September – December), while those from the Fresh Graduates report were from surveys done until February 2017.
