The Peninsula Boutique in Makati: A Luxurious Stop for Breads and Cakes
Updated as of October 11, 2019
Inside the “Jewel in the Capital’s Crown”, more popularly known as The Peninsula Manila, is another jewel that shines through with their freshly baked goods and delicious pastries. This is The Peninsula Boutique that can just be found on the basement floor of the luxurious five-star hotel!
With bottles of wine and other souvenirs found inside, The Peninsula Boutique may be best-known as a gift shop rather than a cafe, but for its usual patrons, the Boutique is more than that. Celebrations are made even grander with the Boutique’s famous cakes, just like the King Oscar Cake, an almond coated cake topped with luscious strawberries.
A layer of its unsweetened custard cream and tart cloth makes it a recommendation for those who do not like their cakes too sweet.

Meanwhile, what perhaps may be unknown to many is that the Boutique also offers unique baked goods using traditional Filipino ingredients. Coconut, ube, cheese, and custard star in some of the baked breads that can be enjoyed inside the cafe.
Their Cheesy Macapuno, for example, is one of their must-tries with its generous cream cheese and coconut that can also be boxed and gifted to a friend.

While this, together with ensaymada and pandesal, may be ordered inside, their solid combo of the Tahiti Vanilla Custard Brioche and their Dulce de Leche Danish are also a sure-fire hit!
