Tea & Toast in BGC: A Spot Built Around Rich Flavors
Tea & Toast in BGC, Taguig was born from a desire to move away from predictable brunch fare and create something more intentional.

Developed by Taste and Tell and spearheaded by founding sisters Marika, Trixie, Mariell, and Pamela, the concept grew from the family’s shared preference for deep, savory, umami-forward flavors, shaping what they describe as an Upper Crust brunch destination centered on richer and more layered flavors.

At the heart of Tea and Toast’s culinary identity is their F&B Director, Pamela Chuateco, whose culinary direction shapes the restaurant. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, she brings a foundation in French technique and discipline, applying it to the flavors she has long gravitated toward. Described as a self-proclaimed “big umami eater” she helped steer the restaurant away from conventional brunch staples and toward a menu defined by savory depth, precise technique, and comfort-driven dishes.
Among the restaurant’s standout dishes is the Mushroom Toast (Php 575), featuring premium sautéed mushrooms layered over thick-cut sourdough, highlighting earthy flavors and contrasting textures.

The Salmon Tataki (Php 645) draws from Japanese influences, combining fresh salmon over warm rice, house secret sauce, torched aburi-style preparation, chuka wakame, and crispy salmon skin chicharon for a dish built on layered texture and umami.

A defining dish at Tea & Toast is the Kani Aburi (Php 999), considered the dish that helped shape the restaurant’s identity. Made with sweet crab meat topped with house secret sauce and flame-torched until smoky and caramelized, it leans on aburi technique rather than baking, creating a richer depth that distinguishes it from typical sushi bake interpretations.

Meanwhile, the restaurant doesn’t have designated private dining rooms but they offer flexible gathering spaces. Its ground floor main dining area accommodates up to 15 guests, suited for mid-sized celebrations and brunch gatherings, while an upstairs mezzanine serves as a more intimate setting for private events, workshops, and small corporate gatherings.
Extending beyond the indoor dining space, they also feature a pet-friendly al fresco area, designed for guests who want to enjoy brunch outdoors with their pets.
