  • Grifoni’s in BGC: Where Authentic Italian Flavors Meet Tropical Siargao Vibes
  • Grifoni’s, a casual Italian restaurant founded by Gianni Grifoni, opened its doors to the bustling streets of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) on December 6, 2023. The concept was born out of Grifoni’s passion for authentic Italian cuisine, with a twist of tropical Siargao influences.

This innovative blend of coastal charm and classic Italian flavors has quickly captivated the Manila dining scene. A second location opened at The Podium in March 2024, further cementing Grifonis’ presence in the city’s culinary landscape.

Gianni Grifoni, while not formally trained as a chef, has a deep-rooted connection to the culinary world. Growing up in a family that owned multiple restaurants, he learned early on the value of fresh, homemade food. His culinary journey began in 2010 when he opened Kermit Siargao, a restaurant that became a local favorite.

Grifoni’s passion for quality ingredients and his culinary innovation led him to open Grifoni’s, a place where classic Italian dishes meet the vibrant, laid-back atmosphere of Siargao. Working alongside E. Lorenzana, a former manager of MOTORINO, Grifoni has created a dining experience that emphasizes both high-quality ingredients and a fun, lively ambiance.

What truly differentiates Grifoni’s from other Italian establishments is its commitment to sourcing the best ingredients from both Italy and local producers. While Italian staples like mozzarella from CASA DEL FORMAGGIO help maintain authenticity, Grifoni’s also prioritizes locally sourced fish, seafood, and vegetables, which reduces its carbon footprint without compromising quality.

The menu features a mix of traditional Tuscan flavors and American-Italian influences, such as their signature vodka sauce dishes, which add a rich, unique twist to classic favorites.

Homemade pasta and sauces are a key feature of Grifoni’s, with dishes like lasagna and tagliatelle being made in-house. The restaurant’s pizza dough is a blend of Neapolitan and sourdough, giving it a distinctive, crispy texture. Grifoni’s also offers daily specials, including a set lunch menu from Monday to Friday, a daily happy hour, and a wine happy hour on Thursdays and Sundays.

Grifonis isn’t just about the food—it’s also about creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Every Friday, a DJ sets the tone for a fun, energetic vibe, and guests can enjoy a cocktail night that lasts until midnight. On Sundays, the restaurant hosts a community trivia night, making it an ideal spot for groups and families to enjoy good food and even better company.

Grifonis’ menu is filled with standout dishes that combine the best of Italian and Filipino influences. The Gianni’s Pepperoni Pizza is a must-try, featuring fior di latte mozzarella and spicy salami, offering a bold yet simple flavor.

Another crowd favorite is the Lasagna, a traditional Bolognese layered with vodka sauce for an added depth of flavor. The Steak and Risotto, made with premium Argentine Bolzico Ribeye and creamy mushroom risotto, is a perfect dish for sharing, showcasing Grifoni’s dedication to high-quality, flavorful meals.
