  • Shaburo 21 in Pasay: Offering Solo Shabu-Shabu Experience to Diners
  • If you’re craving hotpot but don’t have anyone to share it with just yet, there’s a new shabu-shabu experience at SM Mall of Asia that you might want to check out! It’s called Shaburo 21, and it recently arrived from Korea, with its soft opening on June 7, to bring a warm, Korean-inspired solo shabu-shabu experience to more Filipinos.

Shaburo21 is a modern Korean hotpot restaurant where guests take full control of the cooking experience, right at the table. There’s no chef in the kitchen, because you are the chef. Every set, rice bowl, or soup is designed to be cooked, mixed, and personalized by the diner, staying true to the hands-on spirit of Korean communal dining.

With ingredients imported from Korea and an emphasis on quality meats, flavorful broths, and authentic sauces, the menu offers something for every palate:

They offer three main categories on the menu. First, the Hot Pot Sets (Shabu) allow you to choose from a variety of base broths, including Shaburo21 Clear Broth, Spicy, Pho, Miso, or Mala. You can then select either the Basic Set or the Complete Set, which comes with noodles and rice. Can’t decide? Opt for the Half & Half option to enjoy two broths in one pot!

The Spicy Shabu (Complete Set-Php 479) is a must-try for those who love a little kick! The Spicy Shabu delivers rich, Korean-style heat that pairs perfectly with premium meats, fresh vegetables, rice, and noodles—all included in the complete set.

Pro Tip: To finish your meal in a uniquely Korean way, turn your remaining broth into a hearty, comforting porridge by adding rice and an egg to your hotpot. It’s a must-try at Shaburo21! You can also customize your hotpot with Korean favorites like pork belly, short plate, dumplings, rice noodles, japchae, shirataki, and even hotteok with ice cream. Pair your meal with refreshing Korean fruit ades, soju highballs, or classic drinks like Coke, Royal, and bottled water.

Second, they offer the Sukiyaki (Large-Php 599), a classic hotpot-meets-grill dish where you can grill and simmer thinly sliced beef and fresh vegetables in a sweet soy-based sauce, all enhanced by Shaburo21’s signature flavors. For a traditional touch, you can dip it in egg at the end. Available in both small and large sizes, it’s hands-on, flavorful, and visually appealing.

Lastly, they offer Donburi Bowls, featuring options like Buta Don, Gyudon, and the spicy Kara-i version. These stir-fried rice bowls are fully customizable, allowing you to create your perfect meal!

The Gyudon (Php 315) is a particular favorite. It’s a simple yet satisfying Japanese-style beef bowl that you stir-fry and season yourself. It’s a great option for solo diners or anyone who wants a quick, hearty meal without going full hotpot. The savory-sweet flavor of the beef pairs beautifully with warm rice and banchan.

In a city known for shared feasts, Shaburo 21 introduces a thoughtful twist: a solo dining experience centered on comfort and quality. As it settles into SM Mall of Asia, it stands to become a go-to destination for solo diners and comfort-food seekers alike.
