This gem of a restaurant can be found in 2/F Magic Star Square Bldg, 2217 Leveriza Street, Pasay City, though you might have to play a game of hide-and-seek if you’re not familiar with the Magic Star Square. If you’re unsure if you’re in the right area, the smell of broth will tell you that you’re close.

For starters, you have to try their Oden. It’s served like a sampler platter so you don’t have to make any hard decisions. What’s a Japanese restaurant without some gyoza, right? One can say that their gyoza is unique because it’s made in-house. You might just ditch the frozen stuff after having theirs.

If you ask Oden House patrons what to order, there’s a huge possibility that they’ll say ramen. The broth takes 10 hours to cook so be prepared for a flavor fest. Oden House has a few choices but the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen is always a good start.

In addition to ramen, they offer other Japanese dishes, including Hiyayakko, which features tofu made by Japanese artisans topped with the world’s thinnest bonito flakes, measuring just 0.01mm in thickness.

They also recommend their Fresh Tuna Sashimi (Php 390) and Spicy Fresh Tuna Don, while those who want to take a step back from the heat could go for their Seafood Mix Don.

Partner these with their Chahan for a satisfying, well-balanced meal.

The drink selection is as authentic as it gets, with a refrigerator stocked full of premium Japanese sake and a variety of canned Japanese and local beer, perfect for pairing with their mains and appetizers.

As if authentic Japanese food isn’t enough to get everyone to Oden House, the restaurant also works around the concept of healthy food. They also now offer a variety of pre-packaged and frozen foods made with healthy ingredients, making it a popular stop for visitors of Cartimar Market.

Aside from Cartimar, Oden House also has a branch in Makati, specifically located at Dela Rosa Carpark 1 in Legazpi Village. Like the main branch, it serves everything the Japanese restaurant is known for, including ramen, rice bowls, appetizers, and of course, oden that makes it such a crowd-favorite to both Japanese expats and local foodies in the city.

Palm Grill in Quezon City is a one-of-a-kind dining destination that brings the authentic cuisine of South of Mindanao to Luzon. Established in 2017, Palm Grill proudly serves the rich flavors, vibrant culture, and storied history of the Zambasulta region—Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi—offering diners a rare opportunity to explore Southern Mindanaon dishes without leaving Metro Manila. Known as the only authentic Southern Mindanaon restaurant in Luzon, Palm Grill goes beyond simply serving food. It showcases culinary traditions deeply rooted in Tausug and Zamboangueño heritage, highlighting ingredients and cooking techniques that are not commonly found in mainstream Filipino restaurants. A must-try for first-time diners is the Dulang (Php 1,119)—a specialty tray traditionally served during royal banquets. This curated sampler features a variety of Palm Grill’s signature dishes, making it the perfect introduction to the bold and layered flavors of Zambasulta cuisine. Presented generously and meant for sharing, it reflects the communal spirit of Southern dining. Another standout is the Tiyula Itum (Php 560), a striking black beef soup from the Tausug community. Cooked with lemongrass, galangal, turmeric, garlic, onions, and pepper, its distinctive dark color comes from burnt coconut meat, which imparts a deep, smoky richness. Often described as “Bulalo 2.0,” it offers a comforting yet complex flavor profile that surprises and delights. For something hearty and satisfying, the Beef Satti (Php 300) delivers skewered beef served with a flavorful sauce that perfectly balances sweet, savory, and spicy notes. It’s a beloved Southern staple that captures the bold personality of Mindanao’s cuisine. Through its thoughtfully prepared dishes and dedication to authenticity, Palm Grill continues to champion the culinary identity of Zambasulta. For diners in Quezon City seeking flavors beyond the usual Filipino fare, Palm Grill offers an immersive experience—where history, culture, and cuisine come together in every bite.
