  • Frigophills, Philippine Primer has some frosty news for you! Coco Gelato has opened its first Philippine branch in Legazpi Village, Makati.

    Located just outside the Japanese grocery store Minnano Supermarket, Coco Gelato churns up artisanal gelato available in 15 flavors using fresh, quality ingredients handmade by Chef Shohei Ishizuka, a Japanese chef trained in Italy. Enjoy favorites like Milk Chocolate and Black Sesame, or treat yourself to creative flavors such as Café Au Lait, Rich Pistachio, and Earl Grey. For matcha lovers, the Yame Matcha made from imported matcha is a must-try.

    Their fruit-flavored gelato options are highly recommended too. Order their Itoshima Yuzu, Iriomote Peach Pineapple, Itoshima Tsukasa Peach, Itoshima Amaou Strawberry, Yamagata La France Pear, and Furano King Ruby Melon to taste Chef Shohei’s take on this Italian frozen treat using seasonal Japanese fruits. They also offer sweet potato- and passion fruit-flavored gelato! Prices start at Php 298 for a single scoop or Php 398 for a double scoop.

    Coco Gelato started as a mobile gelato truck in Fukuoka, Japan in 2021. The brand then expanded to Singapore in 2024, and to Makati under the management of Minnano Supermarket this February 2025.
