Bergblick Restaurant in Pagudpud: German Fine Dining Overlooking the Mountains
A trip to Ilocos Norte is like going through an endless road of mountains and rice fields. Situated along Pan-Philippine Highway in Pagudpud, we found an interesting restaurant with a magnificent view of green and blue.
Bergblick, which means mountain view, is a casual fine dining of Filipino-German palates.
Bergblick boasts an international feast inside a casual and homey dining place.
It is very unusual for tourists to find international plates along Ilocos Norte as everyone’s into local food. However, what makes Bergblick a talk of the town is its fusion of Filipino-German servings.
Get an ultimate German food feast with their serving of Bergblick Pan (Php 480) of Schnitzel or breaded pork-chop, Schweinebraten or sausage, Kohlrolade or cabbage roll with pan-fried potatoes and mixed salads on the side. It’s the perfect fusion as they serve your local favorites of sausage and pork chops but with a twist.

For the pasta kind of person, Bergblick also serves Spaghetti Arrabiata (Php 225) with Italian sauce basil and a little bit of chili for stronger flavor.

Hospitality at its finest, Bergblick also takes pride in serving only the freshest vegetables and salads as they source it organically from their backyard. The owner even offered us a plate of salad, freshly picked and garnished for free!

How to get here:
- By car: From Burgos, continue to take the Pan-Philippine Highway for about 25.km towards Pagudpud. Turn left once you see United Church of Christ in the Philippines. Bergblick is on the right side.
