  • Ma Dao Vietnamese Spring Rolls is a beloved Vietnamese restaurant chain founded by Chris Le, a 29-year-old entrepreneur originally from Vietnam.

Growing up in a family deeply immersed in the food business, Chris moved to the Philippines more than 17 years ago, where he continued to cultivate his passion for Vietnamese cuisine. Before launching Ma Dao, he was part of the management team at Bonbanhmi and Bon Pho & Roll, gaining valuable experience in the industry since 2019.

The name “Má Đào” (Mother Đào) pays homage to Chris’ mother, Đào, with “Má” meaning mother in Vietnamese. The restaurant opened its first kiosk on February 22, 2022, and has since expanded to four locations, making it a familiar name among Vietnamese food lovers in the Philippines.

Ma Dao specializes in the traditional Vietnamese spring roll (Gỏi cuốn), a dish that is celebrated for its delicate balance of flavors and textures. To ensure authenticity, the rice paper used in their spring rolls is imported directly from Vietnam. However, the restaurant brings a modern twist to the traditional recipe by improving some ingredients while maintaining the authentic flavors that make Vietnamese cuisine so beloved.

Must-try dishes at Ma Dao include their Vietnamese Spring Rolls with 7 Signature Dipping Sauces. This is the star of the menu, made with a balance of fresh vegetables, noodles, herbs, and a delightful tangy crunch from pickled radish and carrots. Each roll is served with a selection of seven unique dipping sauces, allowing you to explore different flavor profiles in every bite.

For those who want a heartier meal, another stand-out offering is their Noodle Salad Bowl (Php 180), a filling combination of noodles and vegetables with all the goodness of traditional spring rolls. It’s the perfect option for those who need an extra carb boost to fuel their day.

Don’t forget to partner these with their Vietnamese Coffee and Dessert Drinks (Php 120 to Php 180). Ma Dao is renowned for its strong Vietnamese coffee, which provides a rich, bold taste that is loved by many.

In addition to coffee, the restaurant offers dessert drinks made from all vegetable-based ingredients, a healthier alternative to milk tea and perfect for those seeking a lighter, more refreshing option.

While Ma Dao primarily focuses on take-out and on-the-go service, their locations in SM Makati and SM MOA offer limited dine-in options with a capacity of 6 to 10 people.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack or enjoying a meal with friends, Ma Dao brings the vibrant flavors of Vietnam to the heart of the Philippines, all while providing a taste of home for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese dishes.
