  • Pâtisserie Bébé Rouge, or simply Bébé Rouge, is a cake and pastry shop in Makati, well-known for creating a wide range of pastries and customized cakes for special occasions. What others may not know, however, is that Bébé Rouge is also a Japanese-style bakery, long favored by the Japanese community and locals alike.

Hidden away in the quainter part of San Antonio Village, Bébé Rouge is a beautiful confectionery boutique with shelves and displays of all things synonymous to happiness—cakes, cookies, bread, and even parfait with layers of ice cream, fruits, and more.

When it comes to their bread, their most popular offerings are the irresistible Shio Pan with its toasty, savory bite; the generously filled Cheese Bread (Php 125); and the sumptuous Cream Pan Assortment (Php 105), loved for both its appearance and flavor.

Bébé Rouge is known for its authentic flavors crafted with exceptional attention to aroma, texture, and umami. Each creation is made with thoughtfully selected flours, ranging from Japanese to local and imported varieties, matched to the needs of every recipe.

Their craftsmanship is further highlighted by the use of multiple fermentation starters, including raisin-based natural yeast and sourdough, ensuring depth of flavor and a beautifully refined finish.

Bébé Rouge presents extensive array of pastries and cakes that are suitable for any and all occasions, spanning from delightful daily tea time snacks to thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and even Christmas. Interestingly, Bébé Rouge’s strawberry shortcakes hold a special place in the hearts of many Japanese and local patrons.

Beyond being a tasteful pâtisserie that serves as a stopover for sweets and pastries, Bébé Rouge also has a dining area and a menu of delicious meals, coffee, and tea.

The food menu at Bébé Rouge is composed of breakfast toasts, pasta, as well as hearty Japanese rice meals and healthy options like salad, perfect for indulging in a sumptuous treat and pass the time with your friends and family.

Interestingly, Bébé Rouge’s offerings have a mix of French and Japanese elements. That is because Bébé Rouge is managed by a Japanese patissier, Chef Mitsuma Atsushi, who has experience both in Japanese and French pastry arts. He also manages the next-door New Hatchin Japanese Grocery.

Bébé Rouge is a nice place to be alone or spend quality time with friends or family because of the peaceful and vibrant environment. It is especially nice to spend time here in the afternoon when the mood is at a slow tempo.

For this upcoming Valentine’s day, they offer a wide variety Valentine’s day themed cakes and chocolates.

Beyond its seasonal offerings, Patisserie Bébé Rouge continues to provide a wide range of cakes and pastries perfect for daily enjoyment or thoughtful gifting.
