New Po-Heng Lumpia House in Binondo: Home of Freshly Made Lumpia in Chinatown
Popular among the locals for its fresh lumpia, New Po-Heng is your go-to place whenever you’re craving for a freshly-made lumpia. Although it’s called “fresh”, the only uncooked part is the wrapper.

A hit among the locals, this savory Lumpiang Sariwa (Php 100) is their signature snack. The stuffing is made with freshly-sourced vegetables, peanuts, shrimp, and pork– all finely chopped and cooked. It comes in three different ingredients: crushed peanuts with sugar, finely chopped raw garlic, and crispy rice noodles with seaweed. You can also have it with two kinds of sauce, sweet or spicy. The ingredients are packed so you’ll get to taste the rich flavor of the Lumpia. If you don’t like it sweet, you may put extra soy sauce to balance the sweetness and saltiness of the veggie rolls.

Apart from fresh lumpia, other dishes that you should try are Pork Maki (starts at Php 90), Fish Maki (starts at Php 90), Misua Kho (starts at Php 70), Misua Guisado (Php 95), and Kiampong (Php 55), a soy-flavored Chinese rice dish with shiitake mushrooms and sliced meat.

As of December 2024, New Po-Hen is undergoing renovations and is temporarily operating at a new location along Carbajal Street. Nevertheless, they still serve their signature fresh lumpia and other beloved dishes so that the customers can still enjoy their favorite Chinese treats while the restaurant is undergoing a make over.
