Bistro des Amis in Boracay: A Belgian-Mediterranean Beachfront Bistro Crafted with Heart and Heritage
Set along the laid-back shores of Station 3, Bistro des Amis brings a taste of Belgian and Mediterranean comfort to Boracay’s beachfront. The bistro is helmed by Belgian national Oli Stassen, whose long-standing family roots in the beer industry inspired him to plant new beginnings by the sea.

Oli first visited the Philippines seven years ago and was instantly captivated by the island’s rhythm and charm. After returning to Belgium, he found himself missing the Boracay lifestyle—the sun, the sea, and the easy camaraderie.
Determined to merge his family’s brewing legacy with his dream of island living, he sought the perfect property to open a bistro where he could import and serve Belgian beers. When the pandemic left a prime beachfront location vacant, Oli saw opportunity amid uncertainty and built the restaurant that would soon become Bistro des Amis.

His family’s beer story stretches back generations: his great-grandfather once owned a cider brewery that his father later repurchased and expanded. Their operations, which flourished across Luxembourg, Holland, and Belgium, have since reached high-end establishments in Japan and Korea. Today, that same tradition finds a tropical home in Boracay, one pour at a time.

The kitchen caters to every craving, from sunrise to starlight. Mornings invite diners to linger over French Toast—raisin loaf soaked and cooked in an egg and milk custard.

Another favorite is the English Breakfast, featuring sliced farmer’s bread, jam, bacon, pork sausage, beans, potatoes, grilled tomato, and eggs, best enjoyed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Later in the day, the menu expands to include sharing boards, salads, sandwiches, pastas, soups, and hearty mains.

Signature favorites like Mussels Marinière pay homage to European flavors, featuring Belgium fries and import black mussels cooked in a classic creamy white wine sauce, while seaside specials highlight the day’s fresh catches.

For those who want a heartier dish, the Steak Chateaubriand is a great choice for those craving for 400 grams of steak, served with Belgium fries, and steamed vegetables.

Drinks are equally celebrated. The bar proudly serves La Bière des Amis, a bottle-fermented Belgian lager with a lively sparkle, alongside creative cocktails and a beach-ready wine list.
