Founded in 2022, Good Morning Wines (GMW) is the Philippines’ first and only merchant devoted exclusively to Japanese wines.

More than just a distributor, GMW embodies a philosophy rooted in admiration and respect for craftsmanship, authenticity, and nature. Its mission is simple yet bold: to give Japanese wines a true home in the Philippines while building lasting bonds between winemakers and wine enthusiasts.
From its intimate perch in Salcedo Village, Makati City, GMW has created a space that doubles as a wine bar, complemented by a pick-up point in Greenhills, San Juan, and an online shop with same-day delivery options.

The set-up is intentionally small and personal: the counter accommodates only four guests, with two additional seats at a side table. Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome when space permits. This cozy format keeps conversations thoughtful and tastings unhurried, allowing every guest to explore Japanese wines in a setting that mirrors their philosophy—authentic, humble, and deeply personal.

The heart of GMW’s work lies in its direct partnerships with Japanese winemakers. The team has journeyed across Japan’s diverse wine regions, forging connections with artisans who treat winemaking as an extension of their homes and hearts.
Among the featured Japanese winemakers is Takeda Winery from Yamagata, a five-star estate established in 1920. The selection also includes bottles from Domaine Murayama in Nagano and Grape Republic, another renowned winery from Yamagata.
Rather than chase fame or notoriety, GMW chooses to champion values, authenticity, passion, and craftsmanship, by handpicking bottles that reflect the purity and identity of Japanese terroir.
On the tasting counter, guests can expect wines from some of Japan’s most respected producers. The lineup for September includes Koshu Hishiyama Vineyard 2023 from Grace Wine, Chardonnay 2022 from Grape Republic, Motivo 2022 from Domaine Murayama, and Shugoro N.V. from Grace Wine.

Beyond the bar, GMW has become an active collaborator in Manila’s culinary and wine scene. It regularly participates in citywide tastings, chef pairings, and themed events such as after-hours lounges featuring Japanese-inspired plates with curated wine flights. These initiatives reflect the company’s belief that wine is not just about taste—it is about storytelling, connection, and cultural exchange.
Ultimately, Good Morning Wines stands apart not only for being the first of its kind in the country but also for the intentionality behind its mission. By creating an avenue for discovery, education, and appreciation, GMW invites guests to experience the beauty of Japanese winemaking—and, in turn, join a growing global movement toward a richer, more varied world of wine.
