Canceled: Sinulog 2021 Activities
The Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) and its steering committee headed by Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama announced the cancelation of all physical activities of the Sinulog Festival 2021 due to the continued threat of the COVID-19 virus.

The organizers, who initially wanted to push through the dance competition, asked the participants hailing from different parts of the country to record their entries instead.
In an official statement, the SFI and steering committee said that they have decided to go online for the ritual showdown and pre-record their performances so all contingents will remain in their respective places. They added that they will implement new regulations to ensure an orderly and peaceful celebration of the Sinulog Festival.
“There will be no street dancing parade, no grand ritual showdown. Everything will be recorded and broadcast as live on January 17,” Rama said.

The virtual showdown will then be aired on local TV stations and streamed online and no physical launch will happen on that day.
It was scheduled to be held at the South Road Properties without public viewing.
The Sinulog Festival is held every third Sunday of January in celebration of the Feast of the Sto. Niño.
