BIR Extends the Deadline of 2019 Annual Income Tax Returns
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), in pursuant to Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 28-2020, extends the deadline of the corresponding payment of taxes by a month from April 15 to May 15, 2020.
The said memorandum states that the filing and payment of 2019 Annual Income Tax Returns (AITR) are extended without imposition of penalties to taxpayers.

In relation to that, the taxpayers may also file and pay the corresponding taxes to any Authorized Agent Banks (AAB) that is near to their location or to any Revenue Collection Officer under the Revenue District Office.
Further, BIR also released the RMC No. 30-2020 to make clarifications and address concerns regarding the extension of deadlines for the filing of 2019 Income Tax Returns and other various returns, as well as the payment of taxes.

Written in RMC No. 30-2020 are some guide and reminders for the taxpayers as stated below:
- Requirements for the filing of the AITR shall be submitted on or before May 15, 2020.
- Filing or submission of other reportorial requirements, which were omitted herein and those deadlines or due dates that fall within the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period, is extended for 30 days from the given date.
- Filing and payment of all ONETT transactions such as BIR Nos. 1606, 1706, 1707, 1800, and 1801 is extended for 30 days from its due date. This is if the date for its payment falls within the ECQ period.
This Revenue Memorandum Circular shall apply to the entire Luzon including the National Capital Region under the ECQ and similar measures. It hall also be deemed applicable to other jurisdictions where concerned local government units (LGUs) have adopted and implemented the given ECQ measures.
On the other hand, if the Enhanced Community Quarantine period will be extended again, the filing and payment of the corresponding taxes, and the submission of reports and attachments falling within the extended ECQ period will also be extended by another 30 days.
