Manila welcomes Scoot Airlines, introduces 5 new destinations
Filipinos now have access to more destinations as Scoot Airlines was formally introduced to the media yesterday at the IBIZA Beach Club in BGC.
WELCOME TO MANILA, SCOOT! The merger may have happened in July, but Scoot was formally introduced to Manila travelers last night at IBIZA Beach Club in BGC.
Formerly operating as Tigerair in the Philippines, Scoot now flies to more destinations in the Asia Pacific and beyond via Singapore, including Australia, China, Greece, Japan, and more. This includes the opening of five new destinations: Kuching and Kuantan in Malaysia, Palembang in Indonesia, Harbin in Northeast China, and Honolulu, Scoot’s maiden USA destination and second long-haul flight after Athens.
Seats are already available for Kuching, Kuantan, and Harbin. Flights to Kuching are scheduled daily and will start on October 29, 2017, while flights to Kuantan will be three times a week and are available for trips from February 2, 2018 onwards.
Scoot will be flying to Harbin three times a week on a seasonal basis from December 1, 2017 to March 23, 2018.
Fly to Sapporo direct from Singapore!
Fans of the recent hit Kita Kita now have a low-cost alternative to visiting the city of Sapporo thanks to Scoot opening up seasonal, nonstop flights starting November 3, 2017 until February 11, 2018.
These direct flights are available twice a week and will go hand in hand with existing Scoot routes to Sapporo that go through Taipei.
LEE LIK HSIN, CEO of Scoot Airlines
“We are moving forward with our aggressive growth plans for Scoot, having swiftly launched sales for Kuching, Kuantan, and Harbin, as well as non-stop flights to Sapporo just a few months after the merger,” said Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin.
“We are now in a stronger position to offer to our guests, which includes Filipinos, more choices of destinations beyond Singapore, better connectivity and more travel opportunities at fantastic value,” he added.
Escape the Ordinary with Scoot
Scoot also unveiled their new slogan, Escape the Ordinary, during the launch last night.
The slogan reflects its dynamic growth as a global airline. Scoot aims to challenge traditional expectations about budget airlines and inspire travelers to satisfy their inner wanderlust.
NEW UNIFORMS. All Scoot Airlines and Tigerair cabin crew will be decked out in new uniforms with Scoot’s signature yellow and black.
As Hsin explained, “travelers refer to our fares as cheap, but airlines like to refer to it as value airfares since we give more value for your money.”
