Emmy-award winning TV series Game of Thrones may have only 2 seasons with 13 episodes in total left, but HBO said that it may not really be the end for the GOT franchise.
In an article by Entertainment Weekly, HBO network programming president Casey Bloys said that a Game of Thrones spinoff is most likely to happen. There are still talks as to whether or not they will be pushing through with the production of the spinoff/prequel, but when asked on what it could be about, he said, “There are areas we are exploring, but i wouldn’t point to any one and said, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’”
Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin said in an earlier interview that he has written “thousands of pages” of history that leads everything to the storyline that the viewers have read or watched. This means that there will also be endless possibilities as to what the show’s spin-off could be about.
Game of Thrones will be returning for its seventh season next summer, June 2017, and is expected to have 7 episodes.
