Internal Medicine – Cardiology
Dr. Benjamin Alimurung has been practicing cardiology for more than 46 years. His father, who was also an esteemed Cardiologist in the country, served as his inspiration to pursue the field.
He completed his medical degree at University of Santo Tomas (UST) in 1971. He also served his residency in Internal Medicine in UST and in Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, until 1976. When he finished his residency, he continued his clinical fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta.
He is currently the head of the Cardiovascular Diagnostic Laboratory (Heart Station) and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in Makati Medical Center. He also served as a board of director of Medical Doctors Inc. from 2006 to 2016.
His advice to aspiring medical professionals is to always keep in mind what they learned and to update themselves with the latest discoveries and knowledge concerning their specialties.
