  • Now on its third glorious year, Asia’s biggest entertainment convention History Con 2018 has started to give fans yet another level of world-class recreation with a three-day action-packed and star-studded events at the World Trade Center in Pasay.

    Present in the opening ceremony is the US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim, joined by Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, and Senator Grace Poe who gave their vehement support to the celebration.

    During her speech, the senator encouraged everyone “to explore the convention with an open mind, learn from it and be ready to be entertained.” Likewise, the US Ambassador and Foreign Affairs secretary are very pleased to be part of the celebration and they look forward to enjoying what the event has in store.

    Meanwhile, HISTORY’s Ancient Alien’s Giorgo Tsoukalos leads this year’s powerhouse roster of international and local celebrities with an exclusive live session titled “Mysteries of the Past with Giorgo A. Tsoukalos.” The talk gathers fans in a discussion, debate , nd exploration with the Swiss television personality and producer himself.

    Vikings’ star Katheryn Winnick is also joining the event for the first time alongside Who Runs the World’s Yeoh Mong Chin.

    Ride N’ Seek Jaime Dempsey and The History Hustle’s host Simon Yin, who is loved by Pinoy fans with his quirky personality, excitingly returns to Manila as well.

    Everyone will also have the chance to meet Pinoy actors Xian Lim and Diego Loyzaga who stars in the all-new season of Celebrity Car Wars.

    Moreover, 10 notable Filipinos will be acknowledged by the HISTORY Maker Awards at the closing ceremony. Many of the awardees are veteran actors and actresses who have made a significant contribution to the Philippine culture namely Albert Martinez, Sharon Cuneta, Aga Muhlach, Nora Aunor, Christopher De Leon, and Vilma Santos. The country’s football team, The Philippine Azkals, multi-awarded journalist Jessica Soho, triathlete Victor Consunji and Miss Saigon star and singer Lea Salonga are also included.

    Slated from August 10 to 12, the grandest gathering had accumulated a record-breaking attendance of 68,800 attendees in 2017 and 50,000 in 2016. To date, bigger milestones, bolder names, the best of pop culture, and more exciting activities and contests are set to be celebrated with over 400 exhibitors and prominent history makers themselves.
