  • For those of you who regularly visit this website in search of authentic Japanese eats, you’ve probably encountered Kotono a few times before.

Not having a love affair with this restaurant is hard. Known for fares such as their Duck Meat Stew Steamed in Bamboo as well as their fried oysters, Kotono only uses the best ingredients imported all the way from France to produce the best-tasting food.

If you loved Kotono before, you’ll love them even more because they’ve added a few new dishes to their menu.

First up is the kushikatsu (Php 230). Everyone knows that getting kids to eat their vegetables is as easy as getting them to take a bath. Made from a mix of meat and vegetables, this is a great way to make kids eat their greens. What’s more, kushikatsu is served skewered so it’s the perfect food for children. It is deep fried, though, so it might be best not to feed them too much.

Next is the korokke (Php 230). Fans of the French croquette will love this since it will taste familiar. Enjoy this mix of deep fried meat and mashed potatoes with rice, noodles, or on its own.

Thinking of reducing your meat intake but not a big fan of fish? Try their satsuma age (Php 250). Yes, its fish, but it’s also fried to perfection so you really wouldn’t mind eating one of the Little Mermaid’s friends.

Lastly, how could anyone go without getting some sashimi? For those who can’t decide what sashimi to get, Kotono offers the sashimi moriawase. The platter has a little bit of everything so diners don’t have to make the hard decision of choosing between salmon and tuna again.
