  • The performing group Drum Tao last performed in the Philippines in 2012. To promote their performance this week, the group teased mall guests with a sneak peek of their one-of-a-kind musical drum concert. Starting with one of the premiere malls of Manila, Drum Tao brought dance, martial arts, and percussions to Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium last April 15.

Before captivating mall guests with their short performance members Yoshinori Suito, Shingo Kawahara, and Daisuke Fumoto answered questions during the press conference. For one, they are excited to perform for once again for the Philippine audience. They change choreography and music every year so they want to showcase a whole new act for both those who have watched before and the first-timers.

For Drum Tao’s upcoming shows, 16 out of forty-five performing members will be coming. Most of the chosen ones are of the newest batch of artists; for some, it would be their first time performing outside of Japan, bringing with them fresh acts and innovative production of the latest generation. The members spend eight months of the year touring the world while also undergoing rigorous training and highly disciplined rehearsals.

The free mall performance is only but a small taste of their grander concert starting April 19 to 22 at Kia Theater

They captivated hundreds of mall guests at the Shangri-La Plaza last April 15 with their well-choreographed concert, upbeat chanting, and passionate mix of dance and martial arts. The unique experience caught the interest of bystanders who were assisted by staff to purchase tickets after the performance. This is only the first leg of the mall series as they also performed on the local TV show, It’s Show Time and Gateway Mall, Cubao yesterday, April 16. Their next free public performances will be at Eat Bulaga and Robinsons Magnolia on Tuesday, April 17 and finally, a special performance at Okada Manila.

Get ready to witness inspiring and immersive rhythm, beats, and melodies from the world-class performance group, Drum Tao this April 19 to 22 at the Kia Theater. Tickets are available online at TicketNet, https://www.ticketnet.com.ph/drum-tao-samurai-drum-rock.
