What to Expect at the First Hungarian Film Festival in Manila
We are thrilled with yet another FREE international film festival this week, courtesy of the Embassy of Hungary in the Philippines in partnership with Shangri-La Plaza. The first ever Hungarian Film Festival, featuring four critically acclaimed Hungarian contemporary films, will be held from December 1 to 2 at the Shang Cineplex.

Son of Saul (2015) is a thriller drama that won the Oscar’s Best Picture in 2016. It follows the story of Saul, prisoner of the Nazi death camp in pursuit of saving a child’s body he took for his son.
Strangled (2016) is a social, political, and psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you watch a series of shocking murders uncover in a small Hungarian town.
Kincsem – Bet on Revenge (2017) is a historical romance drama that has been a huge Hungarian box office hit. Find out why as you witness a horse trainer get tangled up in love and revenge.
Paw (2015) will surely touch the hearts of dog owners and animal lovers with a true-to-life story of Mancs (Paw), a famous rescue dog who forms a tag team with an ordinary man to save lives around the world.
