PH is 8th best country to start a business, 13th best country to invest in
In a report released by American media company U.S. News & World Report, Philippines ranked 43rd overall in the list of ‘best countries in the world.’
Out of 80 countries, PH got an overall score of 2.1 making it to #43, compared to its previous #33 rank out of 60 countries in 2016. Factors such as adventure (pleasant climate), citizenship (cares about human rights/environment and freedom), cultural influence (cultural significance), entrepreneurship (tech expertise, skilled labor force), heritage (culturally accessible), movers (different/dynamic), open for business (favorable tax environment, government transparency), power (economically influential), and quality of life (good job market, economic stability) were assessed to get the performance score of each countries.
PH ranked 8th in the best countries to start a business, where more than 6,000 business decision-makers scored in attributes such as affordability, bureaucracy, cheap manufacturing costs, connection to the rest of the world, and easy access to capital.
The country ranked 13th in terms of the best countries to invest in, based on their scores in 8 attributes namely skilled labor force and technological expertise, favorable tax environment, innovation, entrepreneurship, corruption, dynamic, and economic stability.
