Malagos Chocolate from Davao wins its 5th international award
Malagos Unsweetened Chocolate won its 5th international award in a chocolate competition recently held at the Academy of Chocolate in London, United Kingdom, a group of industry professionals promoting excellence in fine chocolate-making. The announcement was made on June 05, 2017 on the Academy’s website.
On a Facebook post on June 5, Monday, Malagos Chocolate wrote, “Breaking news! Davao cacao farmers win again at the 2017 Academy of Chocolate competition! This recognition honors all the hardworking farmers in the country. Mabuhay ang magsasakang Pilipino! Malagos Unsweetened Chocolate wins another SILVER…”
Malagos’ chocolates are very popular not only amongst the locals but also worldwide. It has been one of the most loved pasalubong (souvenir) of tourists and visitors of Davao City. Founders Roberto and Charita Puentespina started their venture into cacao growing in 2003. Today, they produce chocolate that is proudly Philippine-made.
