DOTR, CAAP open new Puerto Princesa International Airport in Palawan
The new Puerto Princesa International Airport in Palawan has been recently launched by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Located in Barangay San Miguel, the P4.5 billion Puerto Princesa International Airport was designed to accommodate 1.9 million passengers annually. The terminal has a floor area of 13,000 square meters and can seat about 1,500 persons. Aside from that, the 2,600-meter runway can accommodate bigger aircrafts, which have a 400-seater capacity.
With state-of-the-art facilities/IMAGE Cebu Pacific
In a report by GMA News, the airport has a state of the art navigation system, and can accommodate about 20 flights a day. Airlines such as the Philippine Airlines, PAL Express, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, and Air Juan will be using the new airport.

The launch of the new airport was attended by Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez, Vice Governor Victorino Socrates, Puerto Princesa City Mayor Luis Marciada III, Vice Mayor Nancy Socrates, CAAP officials, other Palawan officials, and Korean Ambassador Kim Jae-Shin. The new airport was made possible by the government of South Korea, who helped fund the airport to have better facilities.
