    1. Giant Lantern Festival, San Fernando City Pampanga
    Giant Lantern Festival is an annual festival celebrated in December, on the Saturday that precedes Christmas Eve in San Fernando, Pampanga. The festival features a competition of gigantic lanterns whose grand structure is an attraction in itself. Today, the festival is home to innovative designs that display creativity and are infused with originality. Because of this annual event, the city of Pampanga has been christened the ‘Christmas Capital of the Philippines’.

    2. Maytinis Festival, Kawit Cavite
    Maytinis Festival is an old Christmas tradition in the historic town of Kawit in the province of Cavite which is annually held every 24th of December, during Christmas Eve. The traditional event showcases a dramatic retelling of St. Joseph’s and Virgin Mary’s journey in search for a place to stay in Bethlehem. Kawitenos portrays ancient biblical scenes from the old to the new testaments depicted in grand floats culminating a lively parade down the streets of Kawit.
