Pilmico, Max’s Corner Bakery name winner for Tinapay Natin: Pinoy Bread Baking Competition
After scouting aspiring bakers all over the Philippines through elimination rounds, Pilmico, in partnership with Max’s Corner Bakery, culminated Tinapay Natin: Pinoy Bread Baking Competition in the Grand Finals held on October 13 (Thursday) at Treston International College in Bonifacio Global City.

Breads made by the three teams
Three teams, which come from top culinary schools in the Philippines including St. Therese MTC Colleges, La Fiesta in Iloilo, Sisters of Mary School- Adlas Inc. IN Cavite, and Benguet State University from Benguet, participated in the grand finals where they showcased their bread baking skills. The teams also shared the stories behind the flavorful traditional and modern breads, and an all-new third bread creation.

Renowned celebrity chefs were present to determine the winners for the said competition namely Chef Jam Melchor of the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement, Ed Bugia, Executive Chef of the Pino Group of Restaurants and Backyard Kitchen + Brew, Chef Cynthia, and TV Host/celebrity Chef Boy Logro.

After the judges have tasted the breads made by each team, Roy Tabocolde and Greegy Cabarrubias from St. There MTC Colleges, La Fiesta won the grand prize. The winners, having the most compelling story reflecting Filipino heritage, will receive a cash prize plus the opportunity to work with Max’s Corner Bakery and their winning breads will be sold for everyone in the country to try.
