  • When starting a business in the Philippines, the Internet is one of the most important business tools. In today’s digital age, the Internet serves as the backbone for communication, marketing, and operations. Important Considerations Before Signing a Contract!

    • Ask your building administrator.

Buildings and condominiums typically have designated internet service providers, so it’s crucial to consult with the building administrator or owner beforehand.

For older buildings, the internal wiring may be outdated, potentially resulting in slower speeds than what you’ve contracted. Additionally, check with your provider directly, as internet speeds can vary on higher floors of a condominium.

    • Provide ample notice to your internet service provider.

To ensure a smooth setup, inform the internet service provider of your desired service start date as early as possible. In the Philippines, plans can often change unexpectedly, so allowing ample time for any adjustments is essential.

    • Subscribe to two or more lines from different providers, if possible.

While the internet infrastructure in the Philippines is improving rapidly, internet connections can still be unstable. Additionally, power outages, though less frequent now, can still occur, leading to unexpected service interruptions. To mitigate these risks, having a backup line from at least two providers with distinct connections is a smart strategy in case of emergencies.

    STEP 3: Billing & Payment

Once you have submitted the necessary documents and completed your application for the plan, your contract will be finalized. Your internet service provider may issue a Statement of Account (SOA) for your initial deposit. For monthly payments, you will be issued a SOA which you may settle through various payment channels including BAYAD Center and banks. Additionally, the “Bills Payment” option of your online bank is also available for your convenience.

While gathering the required documents for the contract may take some time, having everything ready will streamline the process. To finalize the contract, ensure that a Filipino staff member is present to sign, or provide them with a power of attorney to handle the signing on your behalf. It’s always a good idea to double-check all documents and requirements well in advance to avoid any delays.
