Procession of Statues – the holy procession consists of the different churches statues being carried and it passes through the town en route back to the church. It stops three times, to give way to the salubong or meeting which are: the meeting of Christ and Mary, the wiping of Jesus’ face by Veronica, and the encounter between Mary and Veronica.

Pabasa or The Read – The Pabasa is a night long affair where the Filipinos practice “Pasyon,” a long narrative of Christ’s life, passion, death and resurrection. They read it out loud in a song-like manner and it is usually done in groups where they take turns in reading.
